FAQs

Is a 5m EV charging cable right for me?
+

A 5m EV charging cable is the ideal choice for most EV owners, offering a balance of convenience, reach, and ease of use. It provides enough length for standard charging setups (whether that be when using a home EV charger or at a destination charging point) without the extra bulk of longer cables, making it easier to handle, store, and transport in your vehicle.

Which EV chargers are the cables above compatible with?
+

Our cables are compatible with all the untethered home chargers we sell including the Easee One, Ohme ePod, Simpson and Partner Home 7 (untethered) and Easee Charge.

Please note: The Ohme Home Pro, Vchrged Seven, Hypervolt Home 3, Tesla Wall Connector and Andersen A2 are not compatible due to coming with their own built-in cables.

Will these EV leads work with my vehicle?
+

All our 5m EV charging cables have a Type 2 connector meaning that they are only compatible with vehicles that have a Type 2 charging port. You can find out what charging port your vehicle has by finding it on our vehicle database. A general rule however is that any electric or plug-in hybrid vehicle made after 2015 will tend to have a Type 2 charging port.

Are these 5m EV charging cables three-phase compatible?
+

While you can use these EV charging cables with a three-phase EV charger, they are single-phase and will limit the charging speed to 7.4kW. Most UK residential properties are single-phase so it's ideal for the majority of EV drivers.

If you would like a three-phase charging cable, please contact customer service and we will order one for you.

Do your 5m EV charging cables have a warranty?
+

Yes, you can check the supplier's warranty here.

Are our EV charging leads good quality?
+

These are high quality, premium EV charging cables. Manufactured in the UK, it uses better materials and is put through more rigorous quality checks than most budget options. We have tested these cables in-house on multiple vehicles and our editor Danny has personally used this brand of cable at home and for use with public chargers.

Are these EV charging cables "weather-proof"?
+

Yes, these car charging cables have a high IP55 waterproof rating, so it should be very durable and suitable for indoor and outdoor charging.
