Easee Charge EV Charger Installation | From £1300 or £17 per month

Easee Charge

Most residential properties cannot use this product. For three-phase supply only.

The Easee Charge is the three-phase sibling of the Easee One. Ideal for businesses with a three-phase electricity supply looking for an even faster charge. Note: for those in residential properties we recommend the Easee One instead.

Upfront prices

The prices on our website for an EV charger installation are the minimum cost for any installation, but your final quote will depend on a number of factors including:

  1. Cable length - how much extra cable is required to connect your charger to the mains.
  2. Extra equipment - some installations require extra protective equipment such as a Type A RCBO and/or earth rod.
  3. Complexity - depending on the cable route and other factors, our in-house technicians will assess how much time and labour is required to complete the installation.

Every installation and quote is different, which is why we ask you to complete an Online Site Survey so we can give you an accurate and honest quote for your own home installation.

As mentioned above, the prices on the website are a rough guide only and you will need to complete an Online Site Survey to get an accurate quote for your home installation. The prices on the website include:

  1.  The charger (not including delivery)
  2.  Our Basic Installation Package - this is the minimum cost for any installation, but yours could be more.

  1. To get started, click "Request A Quote" on your preferred charger
  2. Fill in the short form.
  3. We will email and text you a link to your guided Online Site Survey
  4. Follow the instructions and take the photos requested
  5. Once we have all the details required, we will email you an honest and accurate quote.

Faster charging

Based on the Easee One, the Easee Charge offers the same great features with up to 22kW AC charging.
Charge your EV faster*

The Easee Charge is capable of up to 22kW AC charging - ideal if you need extra fast charging at home or at a commercial premises with multiple electric cars.

*To take full advantage of 22kW charging, the property will require a three-phase electricity supply. In addition, many EVs have a maximum charging speed - for example, some cannot accept more than 7kW AC. So it is also important you check if your vehicle can accept more than 7kW AC (this is different to rapid charging which uses DC).

It's best to consult with the dealership, but you can also refer to our EV database for charging speeds for your electric vehicle.

Learn more in our guide to 22kW three-phase charging to decide if it's right for you.

Note: a single-phase supply will limit charging to 7.4kW. To charge at rates over 7.4kW (up to 22kW) a three-phase electricity supply, Easee Charge unit and three-phase charging cable are required.

Cool and compact

The Easee Charge is extremely smart looking and also one of the most compact EV chargers on the market.

Dimensions - H256 x W193 x D106mm

Charges all vehicles types

The Easee Charge works as both tethered and untethered, so you no longer need to choose which is best for you. If you prefer the convenience of a tethered charger (cable permanently attached), no problem - just plug the cable into the Easee and lock it in via the app. If you want the flexibility of an untethered unit (no cable attached), then just remove the cable and plug it in at your own leisure.

Being untethered also means that the Easee Charge will work with both Type 1 and Type 2 charging cables.

Stable smart connectivity

The Easee Charge uses both WiFi and a built-in SIM for its internet connectivity. That means a stable connection for over-the-air updates to add new features and make improvements over time.

Extra colours

The Easee Charge comes in black as standard. However, the faceplate on the Easee Charge is easily swapped over without the need for an engineer.

Standard colour: black

You can purchase different colours separately for £35.00

Additional colours ordered separately: white, grey, blue, red

Cable security

Permanently lock your cable into the Easee Charge using the app, removing the fear that someone might remove it.

Future proofed

The Easee Charge can be easily expanded as your needs change because up to 101 units can be installed on the same circuit in a commercial setting.

In addition, if you expect to purchase an EV in future which is capable of 22kW three-phase charging and you want to future proof then the Easee Charge is a great option as it can charge all electric cars even when using a single-phase supply.

Note: a single-phase supply will limit charging to 7.4kW. To charge at rates over 7.4kW (up to 22kW) a three-phase electricity supply, Easee Charge unit and three-phase charging cable are required.

Cyber Security compliant

The Easee Charge meets the latest standard in EV charger cyber security regulations, which came into force on 31st December 2022.

It means that the Easee Charge has anti-tamper detection and all-round better data security. Learn more about the regulations in our EV charger cyber security guide.

Three year warrenty as standard

The Easee Charge comes with a three year warranty so you can be assured that if that if something does go wrong with your EV charger (although very unlikely) Easee has you covered.

Full control with the Easee App and Portal

The Easee App for home and Easee Portal for commercial settings give you total control over your smart charger.
Save money on charging

Choose when you charge. Either plug in and charge your EV straight away, or set up a schedule to charge at certain times such as when your electricity prices are lower.

To find out how to get cheaper EV charging, check out our EV energy tariff comparison tool.

Real-time monitoring

See the charge status of your car, monitor your energy consumption and more via the Easee App.

If you're using the Easee Portal in a commercial setting, then you can monitor usage across all devices - handy for larger setups.

Lock and unlock the cable

Choose how you want to charge with the Easee Charge. If you want to set up "tethered" devices and keep the cable (sold separately) attached, you can lock it in place using the Easee app. Alternatively, unlock the cable to store it elsewhere.

Over-the-air updates

The Easee app is regularly updated with improvements and new features, so your Easee product gets better and better over time.

Can I get a Type 1 version of the Easee Charge?

The Easee Charge has a universal socket which will work with both Type 1 and Type 2 cables - in other words, it works with all EVs.

If you have a Type 1 vehicle, simply order a Type 1 EV charging cable and plug it into the Easee and your vehicle.

Can I get a longer cable for the Easee One?

The Easee One does not come with a cable as standard, but that means you can choose your own cable length and order a cable separately.

You can order EV charging cables from Smart Home Charge which you can use with your Easee Charge.

Is there a 7kW version of the Easee Charge?

Learn about the Easee One EV charger.

Is the Easee Charge “weather-proof”?

Yes, the Easee Charge has IP54 certification. And, just like the 7kW Easee One counterpart, it has 11 sensors and intelligent temperature measurement to keep you and your home safe. Easee products are hugely popular in Norway too, so they should be able to cope perfectly well with the British weather.

Available colours include white, black, grey, red and blue. These can be purchased separately for £35.00

What is the warranty for the Easee Charge?

There is a three-year warranty on the Easee Charge supplied by Easee. Any issues under warranty should be dealt with by Easee direct.

Is there a setup and troubleshooting guide for the Easee Charge?

You can refer to our Easee One product support page  which contains a lot of information to help you use your Easee product.

Is the Easee Charge right for me?

The Easee Charge is a high quality EV charger with up to 22kW charging. However, keep in mind that many UK residential properties do not have the required three-phase electricity supply for this product. In addition, not all EVs can charge at 22kW either. It's worth checking whether your property has three-phase first and whether your vehicle can also take advantage of such a product.

Many commercial premises do have three-phase, though, so the Easee Charge could be very beneficial in these scenarios.

Learn more in our guide to 22kW three-phase charging and whether it's right for you.

Installation FAQs
Will my property need works or upgrades to the electricity supply before installation of an EV charge point?

Many customers will not need any upgrades to their electricity supply before having an EV charger installed. All installers are however required to notify the local Distribution Network Operator (DNO) of any EV charger installations, who will advise you and us if an upgrade to your property’s main fuse is necessary. This depends on your property’s “maximum demand” estimate, (which is submitted by our in-house technicians to your DNO as part of our process), the size of the main fuse or if your property is on a looped supply (connected to your neighbour). Any potential works will be handled by your DNO and they will contact you directly if this is the case.

How do I get a quote for my EV charger installation?

If you have an EV or plug-in hybrid, or have one on order, then you are ready to get a charger installation quote. Simply choose the electric car charger you like the look of and select "Request a Quote" at the top of this page. Don't worry if you're not 100% sure on the charger - there will be time to swap this before payment if your change your mind.

Why isn’t my quote the same as the price on the website?

Every installation is unique, which is why we ask you to complete our remote Online Site Survey. We need to properly assess the work involved in order to give you an accurate and honest quote. Our website prices are meant to be a guide and show the minimum cost for an installation of each particular charger. So, that means the quote we email to you may be different to the price on the website.

How long will it be until my EV charger is installed?

Typically this is one to four weeks after payment. The main factors that affect your installation date are your remote site survey completion time and whether your DNO needs to complete any upgrades to your electricity supply before we install your charger. We keep you updated at each stage of the process, but you can help keep things moving by completing your remote site survey quickly.

My car isn’t listed on your website. Does that mean I can’t get a charger installation from Smart Home Charge?

You can still get an installation from us even if you can’t find your vehicle on our website. Simply “Request a Quote” for the charger you like and tell us which vehicle you have in the quote form. Our EV database is updated regularly but are not meant to be a definitive guide – there are simply too many new EVs and plug-in hybrids being launched for us to keep up!

Do you install EV charge points in my area?

Smart Home Charge is a nationwide installer, covering England, Scotland and Wales. We have experienced engineers covering all major cities and regions. Find out if we install EV chargers in your area with our location checker.

Will you set up my charge point app?

Yes. Our engineers will complete the initial setup and pairing of the charger app with the charge point itself as this is considered as part of the installation. However, the engineers are not required to demonstrate how the app works or set up any schedules for you. Visit our EV charger support section for useful tips and troubleshooting.

Will you process my EV Chargepoint Grant claim?

As OZEV-approved installers, we are able to help you apply for the EV Chargepoint Grants supplied by the Government landlords, renters, workplace and more. Our team will assess your eligibility for the grant and work with you to supply the right evidence to the Government in order to claim the grant. Your installation will not be booked until we have all the required documentation to submit your claim to the Government.

However, as an installer Smart Home Charge does not approve or reject your claim and a successful charger installation does not mean your claim was approved. It can take up to three months post installation for confirmation of approval or rejection of your claim from the Government.

Review Comments
I found the whole process very simple and efficient, communications could be improved a little (it is a very minor gripe) with daily updates of progress. As an example I had to call the offi...ce to book my installation and waiting 2 days for the appointments team to call. Chris (engineer) arrived promptly and talked me through the installation process including advising a more suitable installation location. Chris completed the works on time and left the site tidier than it was before and spent time helping me understand the app, I would have no hesitation in recommending Smart Home Charge and especially if you get Chris.
