Kia EV charger cables FAQs
What are the different EV cables?
Electric vehicles prodominantly use a Type 2 EV charging cable when charging at home. Some older EVs might use a Type 1 cable however. Our vehicle pages will be able to tell you which cable your EV uses.
What is the difference between single-phase and three-phase cables
Single-phase cables carry a max charge rate of 7.4kW (adding around 30 miles of range per hour of charge) whereas three-phase cables carry a max rate of 22kW. Please keep in mind however that you will still need an electric car that is three-phase compatible as well as a three-phase home charger. See our guide for more information on 22kW home EV charging.
