Best Intelligent Octopus Go Chargers 2026
Intelligent Octopus Go gives EV drivers some of the cheapest electricity rates for charging their car at home. The catch? You need a compatible car or charger.
With the Intelligent Octopus Go tariff, EV drivers get discounted energy rates between 11:30pm and 5:30am for overnight charging, allowing them to save hundreds of pounds on their annual charging bill. Octopus Energy can also provide discounted charging outside of those off-peak hours, as long as you allow it to automatically schedule your charging sessions.
Why does Intelligent Octopus Go need a compatible vehicle or charger?

Unlike standard time-of-use tariffs, Intelligent Octopus Go actively communitcates with either your electric vehicle or your home charger to control your charging sessions. Octopus uses this connection to optimise when your car charges based on grid demand and electricity pricing.
However, not all car manufacturers and charger brands allow this communication to be established.
You can check whether your electric car or charger is compatible using our Cost to Charge Tool.

While it might not be the best looking charger on the list, the Ohme Home Pro remains the benchmark for Intelligent Octopus Go compatibility thanks to Ohme's focus on tariff integration in its software.
The Ohme app is one of the most advanced apps on the market, allowing you to fine-tune charging sessions with features like price capping and the ability to prioritise lower-carbon energy when available.
The Ohme Home Pro is also the only charger on this list that gives you charging information directly on the unit itself via a built-in screen, making it much easier to check schedules and charging status at a glance.
If you are wanting an Ohme but prefer an untethered unit then the Ohme ePod is worth taking a look at. Like the Home Pro, the ePod is also Intelligent Octopus Go compatible.
Hypervolt Home 3 Pro

The Hypervolt Home 3 Pro blends premium design with excellent smart charging functionality. It is one of the best-looking chargers on the market and also one of the smartest.
Its Intelligent Octopus Go support is extremely polished and Hypervolt gives you a companion app that's easy to use and looks as good as the charger it's paired with.
The charger is also highly customisable, with three cable options (5m, 7.5m and 10m) and three colour options.
Vchrgd Seven

Vchrgd might not have the pedigree of some of the other charger brands on this list but its Seven EV charger should not be overlooked, especially if you are on a tight budget.
Aside from being the cheapest way to get onto Intelligent Octopus Go without a compatible vehicle, the Vchrgd Seven packs some strong features including solar charging, cost tracking and an RFID reader so that you can start and stop charging sessions with the tap of card or fob (similar to how contactless bank cards work).
Just don't expect premium materials, colour options or award winning design because with the Vchrgd Seven, what you see is what you get.
Andersen Quartz

If brands like Easee and Ohme are the Volkswagen of EV chargers, Andersen is Porsche, and the Quartz is its Boxster. Premium design, excellent build quality and a more attainable price point make it one of the most desirable of chargers in Andersen's range.
Even the app feels better than the rest with elegant design language, a user interface that's easy to navigate and smart features like solar panel integration and and charge cost tracking.
All that style still does come at a price however despite being Andersen’s most affordable charger.
Honourable mentions
Andersen A3

If the Andersen Quartz is the Porsche Boxter of chargers then the A3 is the 911.
Instead of looking like a typical charger, the Andersen A3 is designed to blend into modern homes with over 100 colour and finish combinations and a cabling system that fully hides the cable when not in use.
Andersen’s cable concealment system remains one of the best in the industry, making the A3 ideal for front-of-house installations where appearance matters.
Myenergi Zappi Glo ev charger

The Myenergi Zappi GLO builds on everything that made the original Zappi so popular, but with a more refined design, improved connectivity and a much slicker user experience.
Its standout feature is still intelligent solar integration. The Zappi GLO can prioritise excess solar generation and automatically divert it into your EV, helping drivers maximise self-generated renewable energy before switching to cheaper overnight Intelligent Octopus Go charging windows.
Compared to the original Zappi, the GLO offers a more modern aesthetic and upgraded smart functionality, making it feel far more premium and future-ready.
Indra Smart Pro

The Indra Smart Pro is often overlooked, but it offers strong Intelligent Octopus Go compatibility and impressive future-proofing features.
One of its biggest selling points is V2G readiness, meaning it is designed to support vehicle-to-grid technology as the UK energy market evolves. That could eventually allow EV owners to sell electricity back to the grid during peak demand periods.
Conclusion
Choosing the best Intelligent Octopus Go charger ultimately comes down to your priorities. If you want the smartest tariff integration, Ohme remains hard to beat. For premium design, Hypervolt and Andersen stand out, while the Vchrgd Seven offers excellent value for drivers on a tighter budget.
Whichever charger you choose, pairing it with Intelligent Octopus Go can significantly reduce your EV charging costs and make home charging even smarter.
