Updated for 2019, the Volvo XC60 plug-in hybrid has better fuel efficiency and a longer all-electric range, which has increased from 15 to 29 miles.
To further improve efficiency, the XC60 PHEV features regenerative braking allowing the battery to recoup some energy as the vehicle slows down.
The Volvo XC60 T8 Twin Engine of 2019 sees a 2.0 litre petrol engine, a supercharger and a turbocharger to produce 315bhp which powers the front wheels, while the 86bhp electric motor powers the rear wheels. Together, they take the car from 0-62mph in a spritely 5.3 seconds.
Choose the new Polestar Engineered package and performance increases further to 415bhp and a 0-62mph time of 4.9 seconds.
While the XC60 loses the third row of seats that are featured in its bigger brother, the XC90, it does gain a sleeker, more agile look. Boot space is still impressive at 505 litres, so those family trips shouldn’t be a problem.
Charging from home will typically take around 4 hours using a dedicated home charging point. You can see compatible chargers for the Volvo XC60 below or on our electric car charger page.
