Volkswagen e-Up! 2020 Home Charging Guide

The VW e-Up! has been quietly going about its business since 2014. It was a sensible and affordable EV, but the relatively low range meant it went under the radar somewhat. But the 2020 version has seen its range nearly double to 160 miles making it an excellent urban EV.

Charging the 38.6kWh battery in the Volkswagen e-Up! will take about 10 hours on a 7.4kW home charger, as the car is limited to 3.7kW. If you can access three-phase charging then reduces to just over five hours. CCS rapid charging also means the e-Up! is more than capable of longer motorway journeys too.
