Charge speed 11 miles per hour
For anyone seeking a solid-on-the-road, mid-range all-electric vehicle which will fit in with the crowd, the Volkswagen e-Golf contender. The ride is very smooth, and the e-Golf feels very refined. It doesn’t have the best range in the world - officially it does up to 186 miles on a full charge, but this probably equates to around 125 miles in use on varied road types. However, a good wall-mounted charger will fully top up the battery in around ten and a half hours and a rapid charger in just 35 minutes. Interior space is good with generous accommodation for four adults, and the boot area (though slightly reduced compared to the standard Golf) is still generous.
