When Tesla’s original Model S five or seven-seat all-electric family hatchback first appeared, it was rear-wheel drive only. Now it comes with all-wheel drive, with front and rear electric motors in both Long Range and Performance variations. Total power is an incredible 605bhp with 687lb/ft of torque for the Performance model, which can accelerate from 0-60mph in a ludicrously fast 2.4 seconds and a top speed of 162mph. In other words, it is capable of embarrassing Ferraris, Porsches and other supercars in a straight drag race, yet the Model S offers this in a sleek and comfortable saloon.
The Long Range is now slouch either, doing 0-60mph in 3.7 seconds. It has a longer range than its Performance sibling (no surprise there), reaching 375 miles compared to 365 miles. Both vehicles come with a stunning 17" touchscreen where you can control almost all of the vehicle's settings - it's extremely responsive and yet to be rivalled by competitors.
In short, the Model S range offers comfort, range and speed in one package. You won't be disappointed.
