Smart EQ fortwo Home Charging Guide

There are two versions of this electric two-seater - a Coupe and a Cabrio. Both come with the same 80bhp electric motor and 17.6kwh battery as on the larger Forfour, though with reduced weight performance is slightly better.

Charging the Smart EQ fortwo will take about three hours when using a dedicated 7.4kW home charge point. There is no rapid charging but if you upgrade to the 22kW on-board charger on the car then an empty to full charge can take as little as 55 minutes.
