The car
Seat has been slower than other manufacturers to launch electrified vehicles, but it is starting to get the ball rolling much faster with the launch of the Tarraco FR PHEV.
This plug-in hybrid version of the Tarraco SUV will launch in the sporty FR trim level, so it comes with plenty of features as standard and a raft of style changes. The exterior sees some substantial tweaks to the styling, such as wider wheel arches, a larger rear spoiler and a full-width rear light bar – all of which help give the Tarraco a more aggressive look. Aggressive for an SUV anyway.
The 13kWh battery pack combines with a 1.4-litre four-cylinder engine to offer 242bhp and a 0-62mph time of 7.4 seconds.
In terms of range, the Tarraco will give you 30 pure electric miles according to the WLTP testing method. Realistically it will be a bit less, but nonetheless plenty for most daily commutes.
The relatively small battery in the plug-in hybrid means charging at home using a dedicated charge point is painless and quick. To charge the battery from 0-80%, you can expect this to take up to two hours.
Charging at home
You can find full details of how long it takes to charge this vehicle from empty to full using a 7.4kW home charge point at the bottom of this page.
However, it's important to note that most electric car charging is done overnight when you're asleep (so you wake up to a charged vehicle) and it's very unlikely you will ever need to charge the battery from completely empty to completely full. So, in reality, most drivers will only need to "top up" their car's battery overnight - for example, from 50% to 80%.
We tested how often the average driver would need to charge each week using the Jaguar GO I-PACE app. See how we got on in this video.
