Renault’s all-electric ZOE series offer an impressive range of between 10 and 245 miles on a full charge, depending on the year of manufacture and battery size. The ZOE has been available since 2012 with a 22kWh battery, while the newer ZE40 launched in 2016 with a 41kWh battery, and the most recent ZE50 model launched in 2019 with an even bigger 55kWh battery pack.
Whichever year or battery size you opt for, the award-winning Renault ZOE is an extremely versatile car for town use and commutes, as well as slightly longer journeys thanks to the ZE50's optional rapid charging feature. While the ZOE has been on UK roads for a few years, its reliable performance, spacious feel and sleek design make it an extremely desirable vehicle for both the new and used car markets.
The ZOE comes with a range of electric motors and trims to suit every need and budget. The newest ZE50 R135 will do 0-62mph in 9.5 seconds, but all models feel lightning fast at lower speeds (below 40mph). If you're driving a dual carriageways and motorways regularly, then you may feel more comfortable with the more powerful R135 electric motor, which has better response and performance at higher speeds.

Charging at home
You can find full details of how long it takes to charge this vehicle from empty to full using a 7.4kW home charge point at the bottom of this page.
However, it's important to note that most electric car charging is done overnight when you're asleep (so you wake up to a charged vehicle) and it's very unlikely you will ever need to charge the battery from completely empty to completely full. So, in reality, most drivers will only need to "top up" their car's battery overnight - for example, from 50% to 80%.
We tested how often the average driver would need to charge each week using the Jaguar GO I-PACE app. See how we got on in this video.
