Porsche has worked to create a hybridised version of its well-known SUV for a long time now and its expertise is clearly paying off. This third generation 4x4 Cayenne features a turbocharged 3.0-litre petrol engine teamed with a 30% more powerful rear-mounted electric motor, creating a total power output of 456bhp (a significant improvement over the former supercharged V6 and smaller electric motor which created 410 bhp). Anyway it’s all good news as the Porsche Cayenne E with an all-electric range of 27 miles and a two hour charging time from a fast charging wall-mounted box (if you have Porsches upgraded On-Board Charger). The result is terrific smooth performance and an array of driving modes which buyers will have fun getting used to (for instance “E-Hold” prevents further battery drain, until you choose a different mode).
