The Peugeot iOn is mechanically very similar to the Mitsubishi i-MiEV (as well as the Citroen C-Zero) and has the same 66bhp electric motor with power supplied by lithium ion batteries, fitted under the middle of the vehicle. The all-electric driving range is (like the i-MiEV before it) 93 miles, but the battery can be fully charged in seven hours from domestic supplies. As a city car it’s very easy to get through traffic with the iON’s narrow shape (despite which, the car is surprisingly spacious inside). The suspension features quite soft springs but overall the iON handles well.
