Sadly, Mitsubishi i-MiEV innovative compact city vehicle is no longer available (since 2016) but it certainly lived up to its full name of “Mitsubishi innovative electric vehicle”. There are still some around, but you may no longer get a Government grant (so worth checking). The basis for this vehicle was the Mitsubishi i, and that vehicle’s petrol engine was replaced with a 64 bhp electric motor to create the iMiEV in a collaboration with Citroen and Peugeot. Fully charged its range is up to 93 miles which is not bad for what was always intended to be a mainly town car, where a lot of journeys are perhaps 10 miles or less. Its price new was quite high (nearly as much as a BMW3 series). However, Mitsubishi deserves a lot of credit for its pioneering work in creating this pioneering package in the first place.
