KiaXCeed PHEV (2020) electric chargers
8.9 kWh battery
Vehicle type Plug-In Hybrid
Connector type 2
Range 37 miles of electric driving
Charge speed 7 miles per hour
The Kia XCeed PHEV is set to launch in 2020 to duke it out in the increasingly competitive plug-in hybrid SUV market.
The good news for drivers is the increased competition is leading to better pure electric ranges and more competitive pricing. The XCeed offers a highly practical 37-mile all-electric range, meaning the Kia should effortlessly manage most daily commutes with room to spare.
Talking of space, the battery is located beneath the rear seats, which means there is a completely flat floor in the back making three in the back much more practical.
Luggage capacity is smaller than the Kia Ceed Sportswagon PHEV, but is still respectable at 291 litres growing to 1,243 litres with the rear seats folded down.
Charging at home
You can find full details of how long it takes to charge this vehicle from empty to full using a 7.4kW home charge point at the bottom of this page.
However, it's important to note that most electric car charging is done overnight when you're asleep (so you wake up to a charged vehicle) and it's very unlikely you will ever need to charge the battery from completely empty to completely full. So, in reality, most drivers will only need to "top up" their car's battery overnight - for example, from 50% to 80%.
We tested how often the average driver would need to charge each week using the Jaguar GO I-PACE app. See how we got on in this video.
