AudiA7 Sportback 55 TFSI e PHEV (2020) electric chargers
14.1 kWh battery
Vehicle type Plug-In Hybrid
Connector type 2
Range 24 miles of electric driving
Charge speed 14 miles per hour
The flagship four-door from Audi now has improved efficiency and up to 24 miles of pure-electric driving thanks to the addition of a 14.1kWh battery.
The 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine works alongside the gearbox-mounted electric motor offering a combined 362bhp. The A7 will breeze from 0-62mph in 5.7 seconds, while it has an electronically limited top speed of 155mph.
In Hybrid mode, using both the electric motor and petrol engine, Audi claims a fuel economy of 134mpg. That will be a sweet sound to long-distance drivers and their wallets everywhere, while the electric-only mode will offer a handy 24 miles of zero-emissions driving. For most motorists this will cover the typical daily commute.
This is made even more feasible due to the short charge times of just two hours when using a dedicated 7.4kW home charge point.
Charging at home
You can find full details of how long it takes to charge this vehicle from empty to full using a 7.4kW home charge point at the bottom of this page.
However, it's important to note that most electric car charging is done overnight when you're asleep (so you wake up to a charged vehicle) and it's very unlikely you will ever need to charge the battery from completely empty to completely full. So, in reality, most drivers will only need to "top up" their car's battery overnight - for example, from 50% to 80%.
We tested how often the average driver would need to charge each week using the Jaguar GO I-PACE app. See how we got on in this video.
