What happens next?
1. Complete your installation Survey
The next step is to complete your Online Site Survey so that we can give you an honest and accurate quote upfront for your charger installation. We will send you a text and email (sometimes this can go to spam) with a link to start your Online Site Survey.
2. Receive and accept your quote online
Our in-house engineers will assess the requirements for your charger installation. Next our support team will send you the quote for the charger and the installation work which you can accept online. If you are eligible for the £350 OLEV Grant, this will be included on the quote.
3. Payment/charger dispatch
Once payment has been received we will order and dispatch your charger. Depending on the product you've chosen, delivery lead times can vary depending on the charger, which could ultimately impact the lead time for installation too.
4. OLEV application/DNO notification
Before we can book a date for your installation, we need to receive details from you for the OLEV Grant application.
To begin your OLEV grant application (after payment), you will receive an automated email to Schedule a Call Back at a convenient time for you. From the dropdown menu, select "I'm calling to begin my OLEV Grant application" as the reason for your call and our OLEV team will then call you to start the application process.
Following this you will be sent a link to access our online portal to confirm your details are correct and upload the evidence of your eligibility for the OLEV Grant.
Before any installation, we sometimes need to gain approval from your DNO (Distribution Network Operator). This is a requirement and is in place to ensure chargers are installed safely, appropriately and will not unduly affect the property's supply or local grid. We will do this on your behalf, but please remember that approval from the DNO is out of our control and response times can vary.
In some instances the DNO may need to visit the property and they may charge you for any potential works that need to be carried out before installation (such as unlooping a looped supply). This is dependent on your DNO and any associated works or costs are not within the control of Smart Home Charge.
Once the above steps are complete, we will get to the exciting stuff and book an installation date for you. On the day of installation you will receive a text message with a link to track your engineer.
