I needed a plumber last week but they all refused the work. With the COVID 19 pandemic stopping almost everything in the world, I thought my Smart Home Charge installation was dead. My Ohme Smart Charger would lay in its box and never see the light of day. How wrong I was, Smart Home Charge rang me and asked if I was COVID 19 free and if so they would still fit my Smart Charger and they did. The electrician called as arranged and we had a discussion about the installation and he offered his advice which was a better installation than I had expected. All the work was carried out outside using a connection from the electric meter, rather than the consumer unit. The wires were hidden under my block paving and that included the earth rod (I did the lifting and replacing of the paving, keeping a safe distance from the electrician). I am very happy with the look of the Ohme Smart Charger installation and I now wondered if the COVID 19 pandemic had made Smart Home Charge offer this exterior option for health and safety reasons. All I know is it was a better installing. I set the Ohme app up on my mobile phone and it connected with my Jaguar I-Pace in control app. Last night it was set to charge on the Octopus Go tariff and it worked beautifully.
