Volvo reveals new S60 plug-in hybrid

Volvo’s third generation of the mid-size saloon will see the inclusion of a plug-in hybrid variant as well as new trim levels.

The 390hp T8 Twin Engine plug-in version is also available exclusively in the new R-Design Plus trim. The all-wheel drive S60 PHEV combines a 303hp petrol engine with an 87hp electric motor, powering the car from 0-62mph in 4.6 seconds.

The 11.8kWh battery provides an electric range of 36 miles, while combined fuel economy (WLTP) is a claimed 176.5mpg.

The S60 comes in two main trim levels – Inscription Plus and R-Design Plus. The top-level trim R-Design Plus includes a head-up display, gearshift paddles, highgloss black exterior trim elements, a choice of 18, 19 or 20-inch alloy wheels, Metal Mesh aluminium interior inlays and part-leather sports seats.
