Vauxhall Vivaro-e pricing starts from £28,000 on the road

17th Jul 2020 Danny Morgan

Vauxhall has revealed further details and full pricing for its new all-electric Vivaro-e van, which starts from £28,361.66 on the road excluding VAT.

What is it?

The Vivaro-e is Vauxhall’s first from the ground up fully electric light commercial van. It’s available to order now and we have new details and pricing on it. Let’s take a look.

Range and charging options

There are two battery pack options for the Vivaro-e. You can have a 50kWh version with 144 miles of range (WLTP) or opt for the larger 75kWh version which has up to 205 miles of range.

Vauxhall says the average annual fleet mileage is 20,000 miles, which works out to 76 miles a day. So, both options should have plenty of range for most businesses.

Charging the 50kWh battery pack will take around seven-and-a-half hours on a standard 7.4kW home or office charge point or 11 hours for the larger 75kWh version.

You can upgrade to have a faster on-board charger and take advantage of 11kW three-phase charging. But check if the property you’re charging at is capable of delivering three-phase charging first. We have an article on it here if you want to know more.

But also keep in mind most charging is done overnight and it’s very unlikely you’ll be charging the vehicle from completely empty to completely full. The reality will be a shorter top-up overnight – besides, you’ll be fast asleep when it’s happening.

All versions get rapid charging and are capable of using 100kW public rapid chargers. This means a 0-80% recharge in 30-40 minutes depending on the battery size you go for.

Performance and payload

The electric version of the Vivaro can take exactly the same load volume as the diesel version, with a best-in-class payload of up to 1226kg for the longer version of the Vivaro-e with a 50kWh battery pack.

As well as two battery pack sizes, there are two lengths also. See full details in the table below, but you can choose either the L1H1 or L2H1 for both battery pack models.

The instance torque delivered in an electric vehicle means you’ll get a nifty response from the electric motor – in fact, you’ll get 136hp and 260Nm of torque.

Two trims

There are also two trims to select from – Dynamic and Elite.

So, as a reminder, you can choose from two battery sizes, two van lengths and two trim levels.

The Dynamic trim is pretty well-specced to be fair. You get ABS, hill start assist, remote door locking, six-way adjustable driver’s seat, cruise control and more.

There is also a 3.5-inch digital driver display and another 7-inch central touchscreen with all your infotainment options such as digital radio and Bluetooth.

The Elite trim adds things a fold-flat centre seat backrest so you can have a flat work surface, an upgraded navigation system, plus a heads-up display.

You can order the Vauxhall Vivaro-e right now with prices starting at £28,361 plus VAT for the base model and that includes the £8,000 Government plug-in van grant rising to £39,811.66 for the top-spec model - this also excludes VAT but includes the £8,000 Government plug-in van grant.
