Three more Mercedes plug-in hybrids to go on sale from April
Mercedes has announced three new plug-in hybrid models to “complete” its compact car range.
The CLA 250 e Coupe, CLA 250 e Shooting Brake and GLA 250 e are the latest additions to Mercedes’ burgeoning electrified range and join its other hybrid models including the A250 e, A250 e Saloon and B250 e.
The new models, which can be ordered this spring, have an electric-only range of about 45 miles and can be charged in about two hours using a 7.4kW home charge point. The new plug-in hybrids can also be fast charged at up to 24kW DC using a rapid charger.
Combining the 1.3-litre petrol engine with a 75kW electric motor produces 218hp and an impressive 0-60mph time of 6.8 seconds in the CLA 250 e.
Mercedes claims a combined fuel economy of 188mpg for the CLA 250 e, 177mpg for the Shooting Brake variant, and 177mpg for the GLA 250 e.
Prices are yet to be announced.
