SsangYong teases more details on the new Torres EV SUV
SsangYong has revealed the name for its new all-electric SUV – Torres.
There’s a new design philosophy at the Korean car manufacturer, entitled Powered by Toughness. As such the car was inspired by the Torres del Paine National Park in Patagonia, which is known for its mountains, glaciers and lakes.
Whether you're looking for a replacement cable or a spare, we have a range of charging cables to suit anyone's charging needs
According to SsangYong “The front of the Torres features a vertical radiator-style grille giving the sense of a tough and rugged appearance, while the rear tailgate continues this theme with a classic off-road appearance, emphasising the freedom to explore.”
SsangYong has high hopes for the Torres, with increasing market share in the EV SUV category being a key priority for the vehicle. “
The SUV market continues to expand and subdivide, and with Torres, we are filling the gap between semi-medium-sized SUVs such as Korando and large SUVs like Rexton,” SsangYong says.
“This move will create an additional segment in the market and will open up new opportunities for us, especially as we further develop the product offering and continue to add value and originality.”
Torres production is due to begin later this year but we Europeans will have to wait until the end of 2023 to get our hands on an EV version.
