Audi has tweaked its e-tron SUV range, simplifying the technology and trim structure as well as adding two new trim levels.
Audi has reworked its e-tron specifications and added a new, improved infotainment system to its fully electric SUV.
The new streamlined trim levels are designed to make it easier for customers to access the most sought-after options. As such, Audi has introduced the Black Edition and range-topping Vorsprung option in addition to the existing Technik, Sport, and S Line.
All trims receive an upgrade to the infotainment system called MIB 3. Audi claims this is 10 times faster than the previous system and also offers support for voice commands.
The new MIB 3 system also allows for more sophisticated navigation, such as learning driving habits and routes, as well as lane-by-lane information on traffic flow for example. Drivers will also receive free over-the-air map updates each month.
The Black Edition specification is based on the S Line trim, but adds gloss anthracite black wheel design, which matches the front and rear bumper inserts, window trims, roof rails and door mirror surrounds.
The Vorsprung edition features 22-inch Audi Sport alloys with a matt titanium finish and orange brake calipers. This range-topping edition also gets virtual door mirrors, with OLED displays in the cabin displaying a high definition image. These can be swapped out for conventional mirrors, though.
In addition, Vorpsprung models also get the latest digital matrix LED lighting. Thanks to a combination of micromirros and electrostatic fields, the LED matrix lighting can be accurately directed onto the road or mask out specific areas to avoid blinding oncoming traffic.
