Renault Megane E-Tech priority list launched
Renault has launched a VIP programme for the Megane E-Tech, which provides access to events, test drives and early deliveries in return for a £500 holding fee.
The first vehicle built on Renault’s CMF-EV platform, all Megane E-Techs are powered by a 60kWh battery with a range of up 280 miles. It supports AC/DC rapid charging up to 130kW, with an extra 186 miles of range in 30 minutes.
There are three different trims available. The Equilbre features 18-inch Oston alloy wheels, full LED headlights, heated steering wheel and front seats, rearview camera, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, and a range of connected services including over-the-air software updates, alongside 26 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), including distance warning alert, traffic sign recognition, automatic emergency braking with junction assist, cruise control with speed limiter, and emergency lane-keeping assist with oncoming traffic and road-edge detection.
Octopus Electric Juice allows you to manage and pay for many of the UK's biggest charging networks with just one card. Best of all, if you sign-up to electric juice using our link, you'll get a fiver's worth of free charging!
Next in the lineup is the Techno model, which adds adaptive cruise control with speed limiter and lane centring, blind spot recognition and intervention, and rear cross-traffic alert with rear automatic braking.
There are also 20-inch Soren alloy wheels, full adaptive LED headlights, front and rear signature lighting and dynamic turn signals, plus upholstery made from recycled materials, multi-sense customised driving modes with 48-colour interior ambient lighting, dual-zone climate control, automatic windscreen wipers, wireless smartphone charging and the full range of Google services including Google Assistant, Google Maps, and Google Play store.
The top-of-the-range Launch edition adds 20-inch Enos alloy wheels and a gold F1 blade, nine-speaker Harman Kardon audio system, a smart rear-view mirror, and an Around View 3D camera system.
The £500 holding fee gains access to the Priority List, and appears as a Pending Transaction, “similar to that used to secure a table at a restaurant, with no money taken,” says Renault.
“It can be released at any time if the customer decides to cancel, which can be done through whichever channel they find most convenient – live chat via Renault.co.uk, by telephone, or even through social media. When the time comes, Renault will contact each customer on the Priority List to finalise their requirements, including the details of any part-exchange or finance packages.
In the meantime, Renault will keep each customer updated with the latest news and developments as the launch of the All-New Mégane E-Tech 100% Electric progresses.”
Renault says there have been 7000 expressions of interest in the car; pricing will be announced later this year.
