Polestar 2 prices confirmed for Europe – starts at £49,900 for UK
Prices for the Polestar 2, the second production car from Volvo’s electric vehicle sub-brand, will start at £49,900 for the launch edition.
The Polestar 2 is only available in a high-spec launch edition initially, with cheaper variants to follow. The launch edition will also include routine service and maintenance for the first three years, with production due to begin in 2020 and initial deliveries to commence from June.
With advanced “Pilot Assist” and a suite of driver aids, and the Pilot and Plus packages coming as standard on the launch edition, the Polestar 2 looks to rival the Tesla Model 3. The all-electric fastback has a 78kWh battery pack offering a WLTP range of 311 miles and accelerating from 0-62mph in 4.7 seconds.
The Polestar 2 is also the first car to feature the Android Automotive OS, which powers the car’s infotainment system. According to Polestar, this solution “delivers the best in-car digital experience with the Google Assistant, Google Maps and the Google Play Store2, promising a truly seamless digital experience”.
Customers can reserve the Polestar 2 with a fully refundable £1,000 deposit.
