New Audi A6 PHEV has pure electric range of 32 miles
Audi continues to expand its plug-in hybrid portfolio with the launch of the A6 55, joining the A8, A8, Q5 and Q7 plug-in hybrids.
The new A6 55 TFSi eSaloon combines a 2.0 litre petrol engine with a 105kW electric motor to produce about 360hp and is expected to be available to order in November. It has a 14.1kWh battery offering a pure electric range of 32 miles. Using pure electric power only, the A6 can reach a speed of 83mph.
It also features quattro all-wheel drive as standard and accelerates from 0-62mph in 5.6 seconds, with a top speed of 155mph.
The new A6 plug-in hybrid also features three drive modes, including EV for full electric driving, Hybrid to combine both the petrol and battery, and a Hold mode which will preserve the battery.
The plug-in hybrid can also be charged at public charging stations up 7.4kW using the Type 2 connection. It can also be charged at home using a dedicated 7.4kW wall charger, taking around 2.5 hours to charge from empty.
