Mercedes-Benz eVito specs and prices announced

The new Mercedes-Benz eVito is available to order now, with deliveries to start from March.
Priced from £43,600 (excluding VAT and OZEV grant contribution), the eVito has a range of up to 162 miles, and its 66kWh battery can be recharged from 10 per cent to 80 per cent in 35 minutes via rapid DC charging.
AC fast charging to 100 per cent takes around nine hours using a dedicated 7kW home or offiec charge point and 20 hours using a normal domestic power source.
Vito statistics
The eVito’s electric motor drives the front wheels and provides peak and steady outputs of 116hp and 95hp respectively, and up to 360nM of torque. The 3.2-tonne vehicle offers a payload allowance of up to 807 kg and a maximum load volume of 6.6m3 – the battery is located under the floor to optimise storage space. The cargo area can be accessed via sliding doors on each side of the eVito, as well as from the rear.
Gearshift paddles allow the driver to adjust the recuperation mode by which battery charge is extended through the recovery of energy when decelerating. The new DAUTO recuperation mode determines whether the van should glide with least possible resistance, or decelerate and recover energy into the battery.
Safety first
The eVito has received the NCAP Gold 2021 safety rating thanks to its Active Brake Assist and Attention Assist. The anti-theft package consists of double locks and a Thatcham Category 1-approved alarm. You also get MobiloVan support with free, round-the-clock emergency roadside assistance including out-of-charge cover.
There’s also full smartphone integration via the 7in touchscreen. A three-year subscription to the Mercedes me app is included, which gives access to remote eCharging and Navigation with Electronic Intelligence. The latter allows routes to be plotted to make use of public charge points, as well as live tracking and remote locking.
Keeping it trim
For the PROGRESSIVE trimline, standard specification includes air conditioning, a comfort driver’s seat with heating, a reversing camera and the AUDIO 30 entertainment system with DAB radio, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
The PREMIUM line adds metallic paint with colour-coded bumpers, 17in alloy wheels, a chrome grille and a leather-covered steering wheel, along with PARKTRONIC parking sensors, front fog lights, electrically-folding door mirrors and lumbar support for the seat. Further options packages are available. Prices for new eVito panel van start at £43,600 for the L2 PROGRESSIVE variant, excluding VAT and the Office for Zero Emission Vehicles (OZEV) grant contribution, which is currently worth £5000.
