Kia has revealed the pricing and spec line-up for the upcoming EV6, which starts from £40,895.
The new model was revealed earlier this year and is the first to be based on the company’s dedicated E-GMP platform.
The line-up includes the entry-level EV6, as well as the sportier GT-Line and GT-Line S models. There will also be a range-topping GT version due in 2022.
All models feature the same 77.4kWh battery pack and ultra-fast 800v charging capability.
The base EV6 is only available as rear-wheel drive and starts from £40,895. It’s powered by a 168kW rear motor and features 19-inch alloys, LED headlights, heated front seats and steering wheel, and rear parking sensors.
The GT-Line adds sportier styling, front and rear parking sensors, and wireless phone charging.
A particular highlight is the vehicle-to-load function which allows the EV6 to charge and power items outside the vehicle.
The EV6 GT-Line is available with both rear and all-wheel drive options. The RWD starts from £43,895 while the AWD starts from £47,395.
The EV6 GT-Line S has the same choice of rear and all-wheel drive, starting from £48,395 and rising to £51,895.
You’ll get larger 20-inch alloys, heated and ventilated front seats, heated rear seats and panoramic sunroof.
The high-performance GT model is due in 2022 and features a 430kW dual-motor setup delivering 577bhp. Kia says its engineers are targeting a 0-62mph time of 3.5 seconds.
Naturally the styling reflects the fact this is the range-topping model, though that does mean no panoramic sunroof here. The exterior is adorned with larger 21-inch wheels and premium paint, while the interior receives bucket seats with neon green highlights, and electronically controlled suspension.
Arguably the best addition is a more subtle, but practical one which is the battery heat pump. This should mean that the vehicle’s range does not drain when the heating system is on.
The GT price is yet to be confirmed.
