Huge interest for this top EV ensures Hyundai’s UK sales increase
With 12,256 units registered during September in the UK, Hyundai UK are relishing the fact that its market share rose to 5.7%; that’s an increase of 60% year-on-year from the previous year.
Sales of the latest Tucson and Kona Electric are up, but much of the success can certainly be credited to the all-electric IONIQ 5 model. With yearly sales peaking at 8,700 units and 1,000 units sold in September, the company can be happy with its success.
Managing Director of Hyundai Motor UK, Ashley Andrew, said: “We are delighted to see the Hyundai brand performing so strongly in September, demonstrating the hard work of our dealers in securing customer orders. The combination of bold designs and technological innovation across our product family are clearly resonating with consumers. Both the Kona Electric and IONIQ 5 are leading the march with our electrified mobility solutions, highlighting our commitment to decarbonising road transport.”
