First Volkswagen ID.3 cars reach UK ready for delivery
The Volkswagen ID.3 has moved one step closer to its first UK deliveries as the first batch of cars arrived at the port of Grimsby.
The ID.3 is Volkswagen’s first major new electric car built on its MEB platform on which all future Volkswagen Group EVs will use.
In production at the Zwickau plant in Germany since the end of 2019, the first vehicles to arrive with UK customers will be the 1st Edition model. This is a limited-run and generously equipped ID.3 variant, which includes heated front seats, voice control, adaptive cruise control, keyless entry and start, dual colour exterior and more.
The 1st Edition has a 58kWh battery with a range of 261 miles, while it also has rapid charging functionality at up to 100kW.
Volkswagen also claims that the ID.3 is carbon neutral at the point of handover to the customer, including the battery production.
