Top 10 cheapest electric cars on PCP finance in August

While interest rate rises are increasing the cost of finance and APRs across the board, there are still deals to be found when looking for your next EV.
The top three models from Peugeot, Citroen and MG in Smart Home Charge's latest PCP finance offers round-up are all priced below £300 a month.
While the monthly average price for a new EV in this table has started to creep up to £335 for the top 10 lowest-priced EV PCP deals in Q3, there is some more positive news for those looking to buy before the end of September.
Car manufacturers have been increasing the amount of deposit contributions on their latest EVs to help offset the loss of the plug-in car grant and the rising cost of living.
While offers in Q2 showed an average discount of £325 off the price of a new EV, this has almost doubled to £630.
The biggest deposit contribution is on the Peugeot e-2008 which gets a £1,500 discount for those financing on PCP. There's also £1,000 off the all-electric Fiat 500 and MG ZS.
As always, there is the caveat that each of these vehicle offers requires a deposit, but hopefully, if you're ready to make the switch to EV, you'll have a petrol or diesel model that can be part-exchanged to make things slightly more affordable.

Electric family cars top the pack in Q3
The spacious Peugeot E-Rifter is the lowest-priced EV in Q3 at just £243 a month.
The E-Rifter is a perfect vehicle choice for anyone who's in the market for an electric people carrier. Available with either five or seven seats, the e-Rifter can travel up to 170 miles between charges and can tow up to 750kg.
The MG ZS and Citroen e-C4 take second and third place at £299 although the MG is slightly more affordable due to the slightly lower deposit needed for this deal.
The ZS has been a model that is consistently represented in the most affordable EVs. It continues to shine as a great-value all-rounder.
In preparation for 2022, MG decided to give its best-selling EV from 2019 a well-deserved makeover with a new exterior design, better performance, more battery options and most importantly, an improved range. The 51kWh version highlighted here can travel up to 198 miles (WLTP) on a single charge, which is 35 miles more than its predecessor.
Citroen's e-C4 is another option priced below £300 in Q3. It offers a range of up to 217 miles and 1,250 litres of boot space when the seats are folded flat. So you get zero-emissions driving and plenty of practicality too.
Once you've chosen your next EV, why not compare which EV charger you would like to install, compare charging costs and arrange an installation.
